hooked on turquoise

15th April 2010

Is there one colour that you have always absolutely loved? For me, that colour is turquoise. Dan, my parents, and friends can tell you that I’m slightly (or more than slightly..) turquoise-obsessed. Turquoise can go from fun and flirty, to beachy, to calming with the change of a tone, and it’s so flexible in pairing up with other colours. I always gravitate towards blue/green paint hues, so I guess that’s why turquoise pleases me so much — it’s such a nice mix of the two colours. Even my wardrobe is littered with turquoise scarves, shirts, earrings, and bracelets. Here are a couple of turquoise bedrooms that I just can’t get enough of. To eat your turquoise heart out, visit the House of Turquoise blog, which is entirely dedicated to home decor in this colour. Enjoy!

Omigosh Gem, Doug and I were just thinking turquoise for our new apartment- we did see it is the “it” colour for 2010 (read it somewhere) but I also have loved the colour forever and I was trying to think what would be a great accent colour to go with our white walls. We’re doing the “white-wall living” thing and totally need your ideas. We’re using your blog as our inspiration :) So far, we’re thinking white, bamboo and pale green/blue/ turquoise to go with a few things we want to showcase that we brought back from Thailand. Will post pics of the place soon!
