I love chalkboard paint. They now make it in all kinds of colours (though I’m still a sucker for classic black or green), it’s so easy to paint on to anything, and can totally transform a wall, piece of furniture, frame, whatever! I thought I would do a little round up of some of my fave chalkboard-paint-on-stuff-other-than-walls projects.
Painting out a dresser is so much fun. Plus, then you can draw on it (amazing for a kid’s room!) or label the drawers. Perfect for organizational nerds like me.

This is a really cute project, and perfect for when you host a party and want to label the glasses. Such a good DIY gift idea!

I love gussied up staircases (with paint, stencils, runners, etc) and this one is no exception. You could do numbers like these ones, a quote on each step of a poem, or some drawings.

Painting chalkboard paint onto a table like the next three photos might just be my favourite. How fun would it be to change up the drawings and settings for dinner? You could write out the menu, a couple of dinner questions to spice up the conversation, some drawings that relate to the theme of the meal… the possibilities are endless. And can you imagine how much fun this would be for kids? It would be like being out at a restaurant every night (you know those restaurants with the brown kraft paper and crayons on the tables? Love those).

The clean up might be a bit of a pain, so I would probably save this kind of project for the more informal dining areas in a house.

What do you guys think? Digging the chalkboard paint? Used it for any projects yourself? Got any other faves you want to share?

I love the chalkboard tables, that’s such a cool idea.
So far we have only used chalkboard paint on our pantry doors http://madeinmorningside.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/summer-pinterest-challenge-2012.html but I am itching to find something else to use the leftovers for!!

Great minds think a like! This turned out super cute!
We just painted our fridge with black chalkboard paint a few weeks ago. It was stainless steel and had a few dents in it(our other new appliances are white). It covered the dents really nicely and has been great to write down shopping lists or appointments and I think it will be great for the babe when she gets a bit older! :)
Sounds amazing (and gutsy – good for you!)!! So much fun for the babe when she gets into drawing and scribbling :)

Love those wine glasses! I just used up the last of my chalkboard paint this month putting in a little kitchen message board: http://moorofeverything.com/spicy-surprises/
Adore the tables… how do they perform with hot plates though… I like our plates to be piping hot to serve & concerned the heat would ‘melt’ the chalkboard paint.
Hmm.. not sure, Linsey! These were inspiration photos pulled from other folks (links are in the post), not my own projects. I would assume that like any other paint, the chalk paint would hold up fine to warm plates on the table. Can’t make any promises though…. !
