a roundup: freebie printables for your walls

4th April 2013

I don’t know about you guys, but I always get re-invigorated in the spring and am ready to get going on projects I have been putting off on the to-do list, switch up the accessories in our pad for brighter, spring-y things, and add or switch out artwork.

One great (and affordable) way of adding some artwork into your home is with free printables. There are tons of lovely graphic designers and bloggers out there who whip these up for the masses. The gist is that you download the image (usually in JPG or PDF format) and then bring it in to your local printers (like Staples, for example) and have it printed in the size you want (usually an 8×10 looks great). Best to do it with their highest quality paper and ink – it’ll still be super reasonable!

Here are a few of my faves floating around out there. None of these are particularly new, so apologies if you have seen them before – but I still love ‘em!

So there you have it! A little round-up for your Thursday afternoon.

Are you guys getting antsy to start some new projects? Switching out your artwork? Getting your paint brushes out? Pulling out new throw pillows?  I’m sure I’m not the only one…!!

I love the first printable a lot. Maybe it’s because it makes me think of High School Musical. And maybe that isn’t a bad thing that I’m a 13 year old girl at heart :)

      It definitely isn’t! :)

I love the colours in these printables! I left Niagara’s blooming crocuses and snowdrops to come back here to our grass/snow mix, so was excited to see that my local Loblaws had a half-price sale nearly all of their flowers. I came home with two bunches of carnations – they match the light green and red eggs in your egg garland, actually.

I put an arrangement, in a cut-glass vase and tied with a pale blue ribbon, on my bookshelf that doubles as my nightstand. The other half of the flowers I arranged in a red vase, with the green blooms forming a ring around the centre red/coral ones. These I tied with a bright blue bow and have on my grey hosiery chest that is my telephone centre. The fresh colours make me smile when I come on from the blandness that is our city right now! :)

Sounds absolutely lovely, Joy! I bought a bunch of fuschia carnations this weekend too – makes the house come alive!
