halloween pumpkins: easy no-carve decorating

Dan, Maya and I hit up the pumpkin patch a few weekends ago with some friends, but somehow I couldn’t get it together to do anything with the pumpkins we brought home until yesterday. So while miss M slept and with Ellen on in the background, I got to pumpkin decorating.

First up was the big pumpkin. I had already sprayed it with black chalkboard paint, so it was ready for some drawing.

I grabbed a chalk pen, looked up some fonts online (I find it’s easiest to copy a font from the computer to get a cute typography), and got to drawing.

I didn’t really have much in the way of creative juices flowing, so didn’t get more creative than good ol’ “trick or treat”. You can see that my spray painting was also a little sub-par with the orange peeking through at the bottom… whoops! DSC_0928

These two are a type of squash (blanking on the name right now… anyone know?) that we thought we would try. They look pretty cute sitting in the living room in the meantime, until we cook them up. DSC_0937

And I couldn’t help but grab a few of the little white pumpkins. White pumpkins are just my jam. I pulled out a black sharpie, plastic spider, and spooked this one up a bit.DSC_0939

There you have it. Some easy pumpkin decorating that took less than 15 minutes.

I went to a halloween party with some mummy friends the other day and it was SO cute seeing all the babies in costumes. From superman, to a bag of popcorn, to a ladybug, it was all kinds of sweet. I grabbed a little cat costume at the consignment store for Maya – I’ll post a photo on here for you guys tomorrow. She was looking especially darling (mama bias)!! You guys doing any last minute pumpkin carving or decorating? Will you be dressing up? Go to any halloween parties yet?
