Looking for a cute craft to do with the kids? This one is easy, fun, and not too messy (mama’s dream!). The paper plate caterpillar is a perfect choice!
What You’ll Need for the Paper Plate Caterpillar:
- Paper plates
- Pom pom balls
- Regular white or clear glue
- Wiggly eyes
- Chenille stems (pipe cleaners!)
- Scissors
- Pencil
How to Make Paper Plate Caterpillars:
Step 1: Cut Paper Plate to Shape
Cut a paper plate into a caterpillar shape.
Step 2: Add Chenille Stems
Cut a chenille stem and bend it in half. Poke two small holes through the paper plate (where you want the head of the caterpillar) and push the tips of the chenille stem through the holes.
Step 3: Attach Pom Poms
Glue the pom poms to the caterpillar. Have fun with creating patterns and letting the kids go nuts!
Step 4: Glue on Eyes
Turn your caterpillar into a real little fella and glue on the wiggly eyes to the first pom pom.
Step 5: Curl
Wrap the tips of the chenille stems around a pencil (or your finger) to create a curl.
And that’s it!
A super fun craft to do with the kids. Have fun with it.
