It’s Sunday! And I survived another solo parenting week! Phew :) Dan travels quite a bit for his work, and is often gone for a week (sometimes three) at a time. I always get anxious before he goes, but then motor through the week with the kids, sticking closely to our daily routines to keep everything in order. Luckily I have lots of family who live close by, and so can rely on them for support.
Every time he travels, I reflect on how much respect I have for single parents. It’s a hard gig to do it on your own even for just a week or two, and so I give maaaajor props to so many of those folks who do it day-in and day-out. You guys are rockstars.
Luckily we had a snuggly weekend together and are feeling re-charged for a new week!

In other news, I have started my Christmas shopping and gift prep. Have you?
I’m planning on making all kinds of homemade gifts this year using essential oils. Sugar scrubs, face serum, soaps, rollers, etc! I just made a citrus sugar scrub that is the best smelling thing of ALL TIME. A mix of Young Living’s grapefruit and tangerine essential oils, with coconut oil and sugar. So good. I’ll post the recipe soon!
If you want to get a starter kit of oils like mine, head here for the info!
In case you missed them last week, I shared a few blog posts:
The first was that the Hearth and Hand collection from Joanna and Chip Gaines launched at Target!!! You guys, I’m having such a hard time not putting ALL THE THINGS in my shopping cart. Someone needs to hold me back.
It was also week 2 in our Modern Holiday Home series, and I shared this DIY wooden christmas tree project. It has that modern, scandinavian vibe that I love.
The Creative Gallery:
Alright… time for this week’s The Creative Gallery!

These DIY dropcloth Christmas stockings are so easy, even a novice sewer like me feels like I could do it! Head here for the full tutorial from Restyle Relove. Aren’t they charming?
Did you catch Kristi’s industrial playroom makeover for her son Carson? I love the way this desk and large scale artwork turned out. Such a cute corner in the room!
