Our Christmas Home Tour [2017 edition]

So you’ve already seen some glimpses here and there of our pad decked out for the holidays, but I thought I’d take you on our official Christmas home tour for 2017!

Alright, let me show you around…

This year was all about neutrals, simplicity and small moments. Not every corner of our house is decorated. I like clean, un-cluttered spaces and if there are too many things, I start to get anxious.

Let’s start right outside out front door.

Out front porch has my DIY doormat (so easy to make!), a simple faux greenery wreath, and a holiday planter.

Then when you first come into the house, we have this big IKEA Malm dresser. I snagged it used about 6 months ago, and it’s been amazing for all the hats, mitts, neck warmers, scarves, etc. We don’t have a big entryway and with both kids now having lots of stuff (seriously, sooooo much stuff), this big 6-drawer dresser is key.

I took down the DIY abstract painting that usually hangs above it, put up a few little DIY felt decorations and some mini trees and animals.

That gold geometric wreath was a Canadian Tire find last year, but there is a super similar one on Etsy here.

Those mini trees are from IKEA and I always find a spot for them every year. Love them!

And then over in the main living room we got a gorgeous flocked tree from the Home Depot and decked it out with all-neutral metallic ornaments.

It’s the star of the show this year for me.

Sitting there with the lights on at night, with a cup of hot chocolate in hand, is pure heaven.

And lastly, sure I had all of my coordinated, pretty ornaments on our big tree downstairs, but I couldn’t *NOT* put up the sweet handmade decorations we’ve made with the kids in previous years. So we got out another little mini tree and the kids went to town decking it out. This sits in our upstairs hallway, so the kids can go over and look and play with it every morning and night before bed.
